AWT Charitable Foundation
AWT formed the Scholarship Foundation in 2006, in support of its philanthropic objectives of providing scholarship funds to women and girls working or studying in the field of technology. The AWT Scholarship program provides funding to further educational objectives of women pursuing careers in technology.
Gifts to charitable funds are welcome at any time and in any amount. For more information about the AWT Charitable Foundation, please contact Bridget Smith, Director of Sponsorships.
Scholarship Program
Program Requirements
Scholarships are available from AWT
through UCI.
In order to participate in the Scholarship
Program, applicants
must be current members of AWT. If you are not already,
a member or your membership has expired, please join
or renew now.
Other requirements:
- Minimum cumulative
GPA of 3.2
- College Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior
- Demonstrated financial need
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Demonstrated contribution
in increasing diversity in computer science
- Able
to staff/volunteer for AWT events 6 hours per quarter
- One page essay question: In what
ways have you contributed to increasing diversity in
computer sciences field? Please give examples of any
leadership roles you have been involved with in this
regard.
