Cynthia Newkirk is the West Area Manager
for Alternative Distribution at Verizon Wireless in Irvine, CA. In this
capacity, Cynthia develops third-party relationships with leading hardware,
software and systems integration companies to jointly market the company's
CDMA EV-DO high-speed, wireless data network.
Prior to joining Verizon Wireless, Cynthia was an independent consultant to high-tech
start-up companies, utilizing her experience in marketing strategy and business
development. During her career, she served as Vice President of Marketing and
Director of Channel Management for Venturi Wireless (formerly Fourelle Systems)
in Sunnyvale, CA. She was one of the original founding executive team members
of the company and launched its product line of Internet optimization servers,
overseeing the company's public relations, communications, advertising, and channel
development strategy. Prior to Fourelle Systems, Cynthia was Director of Business
Development at Data on Air, Inc., a training and business development company
providing services to the wireless industry and in the past has held various
sales and marketing positions at Comcast, American Express, Hewlett-Packard and
Unisys.
Cynthia served as President of AWT for three years from 2003 through 2005. She
launched the partnership with the Girl Scouts Council of Orange County and was
responsible for leading the formation of AWT’s Charitable Foundation.
Currently,
Cynthia serves as Past President on AWT’s
Advisory Board.
Cynthia holds
a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Villanova University.
She resides in Orange County and enjoys travel, cooking, live music performances
and living near the beach.
