Dr. Pamela S. Clute, is the Executive Director for the Alpha Center
(Academy of Learning through Partnerships for Higher Achievement ) and a lecturer in mathematics and education at the University of California Riverside. She is the principal investigator for the NSF project ATHENA, the Community Teaching Fellowship Program, the Recruiting Mathematics Majors into Teaching Project, the Pipeline Project, the Mathematics Academy for Teaching Excellence (MATE) and the Adopt a Middle School Program. She was the director of the Science and Mathematics Alliance Reaching Teachers Project (SMART), the Inland Area Mathematics Project (IAMP), the Teacher Excellence and Authorization in Mathematics and Science Project (TEAMS). She is also an instructor for the California Alliance for Minority Preparation and the Inland Area Science Project. All of these projects and programs are designed to enhance, in one way or another, the overall mathematics and science education of K-college students and teachers of those grade levels.

In addition to coordinating grant activity and teaching mathematics and science to college students and teachers, Pamela is a keynote speaker at various national and state conferences and special programs dealing with mathematics, science and/or educational issues. She does workshops and inservice programs for school districts and colloquium presentations for universities and colleges. She prides herself on being a mathematics motivator, especially to young women , by making mathematics relevant and interesting to the learners of all ages. She spends much of her time in the K-12 public schools talking to elementary and secondary students and often their parents, about the joys and benefits of studying mathematics and science.
